A child in belize City was killed by a croc 5/6 years ago. The child apparently jumped into a canal right on top of the croc. He died of drownding, not injuries from the croc. According to the child's friend (who witnessed the tragady) the croc released the child but he couldn't swim. Though he did have a non-lethal bite injury.
The croc was caught and destroyed.

If there was one resently in SPR, I'm sure we would have heard about it.

Though rare, there have been other non-fatal incidents on the mainland.
