Are you interested in staying in the village itself, or would you like to stay a few miles north?
We had a wonderful time this past January at Maya Beach @ the Maya Breeze Inn. A delightful American couple own it, the price is fair and the setting is for all size folks. No one makes you feel out of place. I am still disabled from an accident and no one stared at me. The beach is beautiful and they will make immediate communications with you by email and assist you with anything you need.
Don't hesitate to ask them questions.

If you want to be in the village, I have not been there, to stay, since Hurricane Iris. I don't know what to suggest.
I know wherever you decide to stay will be a highlight of your vacation.
You can also catch a ride to town with the owners, if they happen to be going that way.
Taxi home is $15 US dollars. But it's an enjoyable ride. There is also a Bus, I don't know what the timing is, but Tressa or Buddy will know, if you email them.
Enjoy your time, go slow cause people in Belize are on a slow time schedule. You will see that immediately as you deplane
