Local as in born San Pedranos? Doubt it. Because' people are polite doesn't equate to them allowing you to dictate what happens to their island.
People fail to realize that the islanders have more respect for the sea and reef than we do, as in foreigners. If they allowed no development in the begining we wouldn't find ourselves faced with this issue. So they have a complex problem to deal with. The sea has provided for them for years. I highly doubt they are going to mess things up for their future generations.
I understand you have a personal stance in this as you live next to the future site of a loading area. Despite, things will move ahead. You'll get over it or you can simply go back home if you don't like the way things are done here.
