Actually you can bring in meat as long as it has a USDA sticker on it and is properly packed and declared. At least that's what I've been told on this board.

Edited to add: Sorry Northern Canuck - I'm sure a Canadian food inspection sticker will do as well if you want to bring in your own meat.
