May I suggest you pick Ambergris Caye for your stay and take a water taxi over the Caye Caulker, and check it out while you are there. Caye Caulker is very slow. Ambergris Caye can offer slow and a bit faster, walking destinations for food and bars, and beaches, and lots of mid-range accommodations. There are some higher end resorts too, but they won't interfere with your plans. smile
