Video: MEETING ON PROACTIVE MEASURES REGARDING THE COVID-19

Dear Caye Caulker residents and friends, we at the Law Office of Wendy Auxillou, with the blessing of the Chairlady of the Village Council, Seleny Villanueva Pott, have created a new FB page called the "Caye Caulker COVID Assistance Team" ( https://www.facebook.com/CayeCaulkerCOVIDAssistanceTeam/ ) which you can find at the link below. Please click and like our page. Through the CCCAT community page we hope to provide assistance to those in need during this time of COVID.

Not every person or family in our community has the economic means to withstand an extended shutdown of our business systems or stockpile groceries for a month.

To that end, we are asking businesses and persons who are able, to donate basic staples such as rice, beans, non-perishable canned goods, water, etc. to be distributed to the poor and marginalized in the event we are asked to quarantine.

It is our wish that other island businesses join us in this endeavor. Let's fulfill our social responsibility to this lovely island that has allowed us to eke out a living, by giving back to the community at this time of great uncertainty for so many.

The situation with COVID is a swiftly moving one. To that end we hope to have these supplies delivered and packaged by tomorrow so they can be ready for Wednesday. We want to make sure our community is ready for any eventuality.

We are also looking for volunteers to moderate this page and to assist with the possible collection and packaging of food items. All donated items will be delivered to the community center for onward distribution from that location.

If you would like to be a part of this initiative, please like the page and leave your name in the comments below. The first step is for us to compile a list of items needed.
