windex as well as urine contains ammonia and will stop the nemotocyst from discharging, if applied in time will lessen the effect of the sting, at least thats what was explained to me many moons ago by a marine biologist.

Nasty stuff. Once you break out I don't think the windex, urine, vinagar have any impact, they are for the inital contact. Problem is you don't really know until later, at least the first time for me. I ended up at the doctor, 1 shot of steroids to stop further eruptions/welts, shot of benadryl for the itch. Worked like a charm. I continued with oral benadryl for 7 days, couple of oatmeal baths, calamine lotion and steriod cream. Happy to say am now almost fully recovered after a full week. Will religously use the safesea if we go april/may timeframe again. Side note, my husband, nor the other people in our party got anything, so it seems very hit or miss. Or they all ended up in my suit/tank top!

P.S. - I have read that if you let it go you can have re-occurring eruptions, and can take up to 3 weeks to heal. I'm not into suffering, that's what doctors are for! Go! Might want to take a copy of the description and treatment depending on where you live, my doctor really got a kick out of it, it was like doctor show and tell!
