Stugatz -

Heard good things about Jade Garden, but we've never had the urge for Chinese while in San Pedro. However, we have stopped by many times for just caye lime pie. In my opinion, theirs is the best on the island.

Jade Garden also has a complete sea food menu,
Their fresh catch of the day is awesome, the only Chinese food I eat there is the egg rolls.
Don't let the secret out though, I like it not being so crowded.

Hi - Just got back. We ate at Estel's, Monkey Bites, Rubies (my fav. spot for bkfst), Ari Baba, Jambel Jerk Pit, Elvi's, Papi's, Caramba. I was annoyed that Caramba automatically included 15% service charge to our bill.

Really want to go to Casa Picasso, but didn't get a chance to - well, always next time.

Did you pay the 15%? Did you complain to the management?

...my favorite resturant is Caliente's. It is my official headquarters when in San Pedro. The people and the food are the best!!!

Yes, we paid for the 15%. Luckily, we looked at the check, otherwise we would be double-tipping them. And I was wondering if they did that to everyone or just us!?

So you're annoyed enough to post on this message board but didn't mention it to the owner/manager so that he might either explain it or make a change to his policy? Doesn't seem fair somehow...

That's true. Let's not blame the rest. because it certainly isn't standard proceedure there. Let's question the waiter. I have worked in that industry and can tell you that if a waiter wasn't having a very good night, it wasn't too shocking to see them add gratuity to a table. Might not have been a personal issue. Should contact the mgmt before making an issue on this board.

ktny333, you have every right to tell others about your experiences with any business - be they good or bad. Especially when all you are doing is informing others of a businesses policy. That is called "word of mouth" and businesses live and die by it.

I personally do not feel it is a customers responsiblity to notify management of their disatisfaction with a policy that management has put in place. Now if you are unhappy with something happening that management might not be aware of, then letting them know is fine. But going and telling someone you do not like the way they do business is like going to someones house for dinner and telling them you do not like the way they decorated their house.

Maybe management should read the message board.
