We just got a call that our flights on American were cancelled due to American cancelling their future flights from Dallas to Belize. Huge bummer as now we are scrambling to find flights for our honeymoon in 7 weeks.

Did AA say that ALL future flights were cancelled from DFW or those in what is considered "low" season? We have flights booked over Thanksgiving.

We had our booked on airline miles from Alaska and they told us that American had "decided to stop flying to Belize from Dallas" I would call the airline to reconfirm your flights, although I doubt Alaska has the best read on what American is doing. Would be interested to hear, but I did try looking up flights for all sorts of dates from Dallas and could not find any flights.

I just looked up the American timetable and it said the flight is to be discontinued Aug 27.

Just talked with AA here in Belize, they said its just a seasonal reduction on flts, they are only going to fly 2 or 3 times per week, the lady was not sure of the exact number per week.

Reality..What a concept!

While seasonality and schedules are pertinent, this sounds strange assuming you were already ticketed with awards on Alaskan.
I would call Alaskan back. I think they are the culprits. There is plenty of AAward availability on AA DFW-BZE...for example...I checked the three Mondays around 7 weeks out...8/29, 9/5, and 9/12...all available.

I wish you good luck.

the problem is its our honeymoon thus we are a bit resricted on the dates. we were ticketd to fly out Sept 6 and return the 13th. After 2 hrs on the phone we were able to shift our flights for the same dates to Continental, but your right it was very odd.

Glad it worked out. Be respectful of Houston and terminal changes with CO. Make sure you have plenty of time. It can be harried...as if you won't have enough on your minds at that point.

Happy Trails.

We live in Dallas and drove to Houston to take Continental direct last week. Seems like since Delta moved out of DFW AA thinks they can do and charge whatever they want. Hopefully they will wake up if they keep loosing business.

When they repeal the Wright Amendment South West will be running hourly flights to San Pedro.
