Good news is that there doesn't seem to be any damage around town.
Boca del Rio by the cut is pretty well flooded with a couple of inches of water, the level is almost up to the top of the ferry ramp. All of the benches at Boca del Rio park have been torn out by wave action and the basketball court is under water at times.
Tropic recorded a gust of 28K earlier this morning but most winds were 18-20K. Flights have been going out all morning and the radio reports that they will continue to do so until further notice. Water taxis are NOT running probably as it's too unsafe to load the boats and I imagine some of the seas are pretty bad to the city.
The back side canals are filling up with water and are starting to crest the road in some areas leading down to DFC.
No rain yet but the skies are darkening.
Most businesses are open as usual, I closed up the gym as no one had come in for the 6am rush and there's about 3 inches of water outside the front door.
...wave still coming in but tide has gone down/out... we might actually have more beach now.... certainly a cleaner one!!! Some HUGE pices of driftwood laying around (like 1000 lbs water soaked ones) ...will be lot's of hazzards in the water tomorrow am I'd imagine.
