Just being honest, here. I'll tell you what I know.

It's a shame that your trip had to be tainted by such unfortunate experiences. I'm fast approaching my 10th trip to AC and never once have I been solicited for drugs. As far as the barking dogs....they are there as a security measure. That part of the beach gets alot of traffic especially on Wednesday nights for Wet Willys (ladies night.) They're doing their job. With the influx of burglaries, I don't blame anyone for having watch dogs. I'm not doubting you, but I know those people next door, and I've never known them to be anything but nice. They don't seem the type to rat someone out for something like weed....but I guess you never know. I think that locals get their fill of foreigners coming to Belize and leaving their
brains at home. I realize that we are often their bread and butter, but that doesn't mean that they enjoy having new "neighbors" every week. Just my two cents worth.
