people go to bars/clubs that are not in casinos in vegas to have fun or clubs to dance... lots of people go out partying til 7am in vegas and it's doesn't make sense to leave and run to a casino just for a free drink... lots of fun bars/lounges/clubs there.

Woo hooo - I'm headed to Vegas next weekend for a 3 day blowout. I will have to check out the drink situation. LOL.

Damn that's a shame, I was looking forward to chillin' at Palapa but jeez not if they charge that much for rum!

I have to say that our experience at the Palapa Bar was weird to the extreme. I think I'd pay the prices again just for the ambience. We must have gotten there at about 3-4pm. We were greeted by a herd of slaughtered and I mean impressively out of it older, apparently well off, gringos. There was a dreadful band performing a poor excuse for a jam - I suspect that closer to sober they probably were competent musicians - inviting locals to sing. It was like a Karaoke in an old folks home after the drugs have been given out. I felt like I had walked into some alternative arty film. The place was full of 'characters' and there was a very friendly atmosphere. We noticed that it was expensive but the view was spectacular - not of the sea - we could see that for free - but of the amazing and entertaining mating rituals of the aged.

No, I charge for that. I was on holiday.

Actually, scrap that. I don't charge for that anymore as I retired (early) as of end of financial year 5 April. Hurrah!

JD - really - stop repeating yourself! smile If you seriously want info try the search function above ("pub crawl" works well) but the truth is you must wait until you arrive and find what you like, as almost all of this info is subjective. There's no such thing as price gouging - you will decide what you want to pay and where once you get there - San Pedro does not require, and quite frankly is not very amenable, to detailed advance planning!

I am sorry you think I am repeating myself maybe its because I didnt get the answer to the question. The reason I didnt do a search was I want current info not dated posts from years gone by. Once again I am truly sorry if my posts are bothering you. Please forgive me. All i want to do is make MY hard earned dollar go as far as possible. I was addressing the bar owners that are on here or locals that dont mind giving advice. Once again I am sorry to repeat myself.
