Leave yourself logged in at a bar somewhere Tim?!?!

It's all opinions and most peoples are different. I had a Fish Burger at Tackle Box the other day and was more than happy and certainly full. England had just beaten Ecuador at the time however, so my mind wasn't fully on the food. The food at Tackle Box is squarely aimed as Pub food and is very good and reasonable. Menu and intial set up aided by Chris at Blue Water Grill, I believe. Combo Ceviche with Octopus Conch Shrimp etc is a knockout.

the capt will not pick on deacon+ as he has been here only once ..and did not get in the right food frame to order right here.will help him next time .. I think if you want a class place with very good food this is a must place..first start off with ,appetizers =[tapas small portions to start off with a few to taste or order lots of them to make up a meal .And wash down with ice cold beer of a fine bottle of wine or one of there super made drinks you will be very happy here . then order some of there very good pasta dishes as a main course after the tapas and then finish the meal with one of killer deserets I guarantee this place will be for you ..the pasta dishes are all the right size if you order correctly ..but for people on a tight budget, this may be not the place to go..And for sure if you order only one tapas dish you will be hungry .listen to tim jeffers ,as he also has a great place to eat and knows good stuff. It takes a stand up guy to talk nice things about his competion resturant,, good for him...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, my experience after many trips to SP is that you just can't beat El Divino's Fish Sandwich...my very favorite! Fresh, Ample to overflowing, Juicy, Great Bun...oh man, mouth is watering on the keyboard! :-)

Ok - Deacon, here's my deal with your post. On another thread you initially posted that you didn't care for the food at CP, but the drinks were good. I asked you last night what you didn't like about CP and you said portions were small and price was high and you didn't think it was that tasty. I explained the concept of Tapas and you said you thought you should give it another chance and that maybe the problem was you didn't have any of their drinks, which I thought was strange as you'd already said they were good.
Then your post on this thread pops up, back to how terrible CP was. I figured you just wanted someone to argue with - I obliged! laugh Sorry if I was wrong on that count. I'm still a little confused about whether you were actually there or not!! Did you have drinks? What food did you have at CP that you didn't like? What comparable restaurants do you visit in San Diego that you think CP is expensive?? Everybody is entitled to their opinion - there are restaurants that people brag about endlessly on here that I think are just awful. I'm just trying to figure out why your public posts are so different from what you say in PM's.

Phil- the sandwich actually tasted great. The fries were excellent too. The fish portion was way too small though.

Pubs are known for putting out working man's portions aren't they?

Tillie- Try constructive critism. I receive it all the time and constantly try to improve my products accordingly. As a paying customer on both occassions the fish portions didn't fit the bill. And warm beer never works.

As for being mature- what fun is there in that?

OK, I knew I would catch it for my comments. I will eat there again just to be fair. Now that I know what to expect I can better judge. Law, thankyou for taking an interest in my drinking habbits. I had a rum&coke, can't mess that up. My reference to the good drinks came from the people around me all commenting on them. so I thought I would bring it up.

Glad you liked your rum and coke! smile
What about what you ate?
and how do prices compare to nice restaruants in San Diego?

And most importantly, how long til you get to go back to SP?

Opps - sounds like I need to get off my lazy arse and actually do some work and build up to that working mans lunch!!! Seemed fine to me, but I can see your point if there's only a couple of ounces of fish. Warm beer even, if it's supoosed to be warm, never works in my book either.

Kudos to your confidence to praise and constructively comment on competitive businesses by the way. Remember though; you set a high bench mark!

In the process of opening a bussiness there. If all goes well Oct. w/ grand opening Dec.1st.In comparison to nice places to eat in SD I would say the same. As I said now knowing what to expect I will try CP again.
