DCG I think the aging has a lot to do with it. I have had beef in Canada that was not aged and it had a very gamy taste to it. I also agree with those who might go more for the fresh seafood in SP. I can get steaks, burgers, Chinese, Thai, pizza or anything else at home. What I cannot get is seafood that has never been frozen without paying an exorbitant price.I've done a few burgers in SP, but nothing to write home about.
As far as the kids go, I would sneak some conch fritters into them without telling them what they are.
