Thanks for the words of support, guys...just have to keep our wee kittens from destroying the tree...I wonder if anyone will notice if I dismantle the damn thing on Boxing Day??
I remember my 1st Xmas when I lived on Caye Caulker, in the dead of night stealing boughs from one of the pine trees, to make a Xmas tree at my home (the only other folks out that night were the crackheads - on their perpetual search for a 'rock' they hoped would somehow materialize out of the sand)...and creeping along the waterfront trailing my evergreen loot...LOL.
I'll never forget that Xmas - 1989 - outhouses still at the end of the bridges/docks, rolls of new linoleum proudly being carried off the boats (a Xmas tradition to get new lino every year), just a couple of houses had decorations, radio playing carols in Spanish...it was bliss to create my tree, call my family in Canada, go for a swim at the Split & work on my tan...paradise!!
