Ernie, thanks for asking.
Joe is resting/sleeping peacefully, more so than last night. He seemed to know his Mom sisters and brother in law were at his bed side, opened one eye and gave a crocked smile.
His Priest came today, and Joe was trying to say the Lord's Prayer, his lips and chin moved at the right speed, but no sound, as the Priest's.
One day I will write, all the dumb questions smart family members can ask, when looking at the obvious. Unbelievable. Some can not stand hearing the truth.
Still no pain, God is good. He can not be given any food now, swallowing is too slow. Water is given with a syringe.
Remember Hospice is not to prolong life.
I am doing OK, my muscles are screaming tho.

Chloe, God, family & all your friends are with you right now, physically or not. Even the ones who do not really know you personally. You will get through this with God's strength. Cannot explain it any other way. That doesn't mean you won't get angry with God & ask why because you probably will.
Understand the "dumb questions smart family members" ask when looking at the obvious.
No pain is good. Morpine patches? Muscles will relax in time.
OK Denny, don't beat me up on this one, this time. He has waited for family to arrive, it is important (at this point) to tell him it is OK to let go, etc., etc. I'm sure that you Chloe have done this but explain it to the "smart family asking dumb questions."

No offence intended to anyone, but Windjammer, our loved ones go when they are ready to go, whether we tell them it is OK . . . or we beg them to stay.
What is more important, is that we tell ourselves that it is their time and that then, is OK.
