Just checking in. Had the computer in the shop. Supposedly it's all fixed up but the same problem just recurred a few minutes ago. frown Cost me $140 to get it fixed."fixed" ha. The shop told me that really, I need a new computer and it'll only cost me $1100. Which, frankly, is a deal. Too bad that $1100 is already committed to something else I believe I just must have.

Not up here. The same system purchased elsewhere would be around $1700. frown

Oh, it's the package, includes 17" flat spacesaver screen, keyboard, mouse, software including firewall. Does it still sound like too much? I'm so computer illiterate.

I bought my current package a couple of years ago. It was a rebuilt and cost me $600 for the whole shebang. It came with Windows ME loaded. According to the techie that's more than half my problem. wink

I was and sometimes still do have computer problems as I'm sure we all do. I recently deleted a lot of the windows security updates and this bugger is working a lot better. I turned off the security updates as they would try to load again. Try it, it may help. I kept the security service pack 2 update. confused

I don't know how to do any of that stuff myself and wouldn't dare. That's why I paid the techie to do it. smile He says the ME is not being supported anymore.

And Bill, I don't open the Chinese emails. Why do you? wink

If you're in the USA, WalMart should be having their T-day sale very shortly...IF PCs on sale they should be about $500 for a basic PC with current MS software. ME hasn't been supported for while.
