who turns a blind eye to alcohol? nonsense. I couldn't care less about this conversation mainly because I don't drink (much) and do not do drugs and IMHO if you have to constantly alter your mind , you don't have one!
And to be perfectly honest if your drunk or stoned, stay away from me...have NO tolerance level for drunks or dopeheads.
Nobody asked but that's my opinion,take it or leave it. :p

ok, ps - some of the greatest minds in human history altered their minds in some way. i even saw that on history channel that early homo sapiens cultivated mind altering plants that were used to form the basis of religion in pre-history. ok, no real point, but i thought it was a fun fact.

Please! The laws dealing with driving while under the influence of alcohol in this country are a joke. In every state I know of there are no serious penalties until at least the THIRD time you are caught - or until you kill someone. Most places you loose your driver's license for a year - like that keeps people from driving! I'm a strong proponent of forfieture laws, get caught driving under the influence of alcohol, loose your car - now that might keep some of them off the street. Won't necessarily keep them from harming themselves, but will seriously cut down on the harm they do to others. Of course, we'll never see that, because by and large this country DOES turn a blind eye to alcohol.
Oh, and "I only drink a little" ? Being a little drunk is like being a little pregnant. One drink impairs.

That said, I'm a huge fan of drinking! Just don't get behind the wheel of a car after you've had a couple.
