I dream of ned all the time. Ned is the man for which fantasies were made.
And then I dream of smearing Bananas Picasso all over him. Lick.

Seashell - You're right, they do have books on CD at the library now. I like to listen to them while I clean the house or paint. It sure makes time go by faster. If I had them in the car (when I had one, now we're getting a cart, can you imagine a cd player in one of those here?) sometimes I'd drive around the block a couple of times or sit in the garage and listen for a little while to find out what happened next. Now if we only had a little selection at our local library . . . maybe some donations are in order. When I visit my family in Michigan, sometimes the library has big sales and sells them for pretty cheap. I'll be on the lookout.

LOL, I've done that too. Sat in the garage listening, I mean. It's really too funny when I know darn well, I can hear the rest of it (or the next bit) when I next take out the car. Or for that matter, bring the tape (CD) into the house and play it there. But somehow I just don't need to do that in the house. When I'm inside, I can read instead.
In any event, it will be back to the library for me before the next big road trip. The one thing I wonder about though, is with the tape, when I missed part of the story because I was concentrating on traffic or passing another vehicle or something, I could rewind. How do you do that with a CD?

Each part of the story is a different track on the cd. You can just back it up to the previous track and usually it'll be 3 or 4 minutes earlier if you miss a big chunk. But usually I just hold down the reverse button and it fast rewinds however many seconds that you missed. That way if I'm listening to a mystery I don't miss any important clues . . .

I don't think I have a fast rewind on mine. I'll have to check the manual.

Rumor has it that SS is so far behind technology that she still has a crank on hers - complete with with a logo of a little dog sitting listening!

I surprised that users of many new high tech devices are able to master the operation of these devices using the user and technical guides. The high tech market is so competitive, and all are in a rush to be the first to deliver their product to the market, that techwriting, as referenced earlier, is an afterthought, or pursued at the end of the product development cycle. In fact, I think it's a common practice for high tech firms to have the office cleaning crews to prepare the product informational documents.
If you must choose between two evils, pick the one you've never tried before.

law and amanda,
thank you for offering to help us get pics on the ipod. For some reason select "IPOD" was not on the source list each time we connected the ipod to the computer and last night it magically appeared. So, it was easy to then get the pics on our ipod. Thanks again for offering to help. Keli
