In the San Pedro Sun newspaper, long-term rentals for the Belize Yacht Club used to be advertised for $750US per month. Might try the local realtors (Southwinds, Sunrise, Triton) for leads and prices of longer term rentals. Vehicles in Belize can be a big hassel with permits, insurance, security, etc. You won't need one on the island, just bike or golf cart. Thanks for your military service and injury? for freedom. Best wishes testing out the island - it is a great place.

Carts seem to go for about $2500- 3500 US for a decent one.

If you try the search button put in "golf" and you might find those which was sold this year. Search in the Classified section.

Cotton,
Sorry to hear of the reasons that you had to retire at such a young age, I for one can understand why you would want to move. My father was a WW2 vet, I could relate the story of watching your buddy, get blown up in the fox hole next to you, actually since his death in 01, I never thought I would hear that again, thanks. So, I grew up on stories that he experienced and often wonder how he survived that horror. He also hated the airshow, he said it reminded him of the planes flying over.

I also want to say that my best friend just got called up and he is waiting for his orders of deployment, so I will sit here in horror as this war takes place. frown

Good luck to you and whatever you decide to do. I will be there in May also, I arrive the 5th and I am staying until the 19th at Banana Beach.

I know they have month rentals, please email me, I would like to talk to you about other things also.

Cotton - One of my best friends was a medic with the 75th. We compared his Panama photos with mine from Belize. Mainland areas are very similar. Pls e-mail me (magbze@aol.com) for some straight scoop on Belize. Nothing but RESPECT for you guys!

Cotton said: Thanks that is what the plan is, I'll be there in May I've been quoted a price for a condo for a month at US$ 1500.00 is this reasionable?

The reply: That is UNreasonable, I might even call it outrageous. You should be able to get a decent one bedroom with AC for $500-750 depending on whether or not utilities are included.

Unless you are looking at places that have pools and all the very latest doodads?
