The attitude of the Elieys Barge operation is the problem. Yes they can use the landing at the back of the island small problems will be resolved. They chose not to and the enforcement of their renegade behavior isn't happening because of the Towns reluctance to enforce the law with the Elieys due to family entanglements.

Ever fly over the south end of the island or north end for that matter? Extensive dredging has been carried out up until just a couple years ago, in addition to the eradication of most of the mangrove on the windward side of the peninsula, for mainly residential reasons. No dredging is best, but perhaps not feasible. If so much has all ready been lost for some folk's pretty homes on their pretty piece of the beach with their pretty little dock with a pretty little palapa on it, some may view a little bit more not such a travesty of justice as many are purporting it to be.

It's you and people like you who think with the lining of your pockets, not the poor locals you talk about. This is a game of who pays who the most.
Its too bad you can't answer any questions we've aked. I guess its easier to ignore something you know is wrong, then make comments pertaining to your jealousy. What you don't realize, most people don't live day to day like you. We come and go, but the proplems you create will always be there.
This will not only hurt the marine life, but the lives of the locals who depend on the fishing in that area. When Hol Chan is so murky from the silt, divers and snorkelers won't spend their money with the guides. This would also be a snow ball effect from hotel, restrauants, bars and real estate.
You think you're so cute with your pretty little comments, you should instead be a responsible citizen and help your fellow Belizians by stopping this destruction.

Perhaps this issue shouldn't be so personal. If you guys don't like each other PM one another with your negative ideas.

This is a message board, and as such it is a place for opinions.

It is not a mutual appreciation fan club but it also doesn't need to be a mud slinging arena.

Oh, and why is it only the Eileys being targeted? What about Mash/Krysal? Did they quietly move out to the back marina?

Actually Mash/Krystal have started using this site again a few weeks ago and yes they should be stopped and should be made to use the new marina.
Why do we have to have all these landing sites when the new one, as you can see in the picture, have ample room for these other companies? Still no one has answered the question, why do they have to pay the Port Authority on the lagoon side and not on the sea side?

Apparently no one has the answer. The Town Board says they know nothing. The Ministry of Natural Resources and the Enviornment know nothing. Letters to the Coastal Authority were sent out last Friday, maybe an answer soon. Hopefully in the next couple of days we will get answers to all our questions. We now have 20 people sending out letters to anyone and everyone who believe rules apply to all
