I'm just thankfull to be found in a debate regarding a tropical island and it's development problems and not debating the necessity for hostage/shooting preparedness drills at our High School.

You guys have something (in spite of the growth/political scene) that we can only barely remember.... peace and harmony with your neighbors, your land and your future. I live in a small town, actually quite safe and secure as it seems.. but the problems are out there, we catch glimpses of it everyday.

I long for my time in Ambergris, soon I hope to be able to join you all as your neighbor and friend, a few more years to my retirement and yep, the place I am heading for is SP!! I think this is what makes your island truly paradise!

Paradise for a visit but I'll take the old USA right here for day to day living. To each his own.

i am in the u.s.a currently and you can have this chit. i have 5 yrs left here and the only reason i have 5 is my youngest kid is 5 yrs from graduating high school. they absolutely are not interested in living in s.p. as hs kids and i can understand, they have their friends etc but the minute that youngest one is holding her diploma, im leaving them money for college and we are gone!

this is not a statement directed at reps or dems, but our government is sooo corupt, it amazes me that they can go out in the world and talk about others with the stuff they perp. i am disgusted to call myself an american as we sit here today. great people, wonderful friends, the country itself is at an all time low.

before anyone misconstrues this as a bleeding liberal rant, id would tell you i am much more likey to vote republican then dem in most yrs.

ok, barge dock. i have not been there in a while, how far south is it? have you seen the property? i own a 3 story green house in the area and am wondering how close they are. is this taking place at what some of my local friends call the public beach right on the edge of south beach?
