Thanks for so much info on SP Tarbaby, and great pics too! I have been reading these message boards for months now in preparation for a trip to AC, with a girlfriend of mine! We are both excited and have looked at all the info, (almost to take in)! Two girls loose in AC, we can't wait!

We are coming down May 12 - 20th, and have a list of so many things to do, we may have to stay for weeks! After looking at all the advice on diving, we decided to do all but the open dives at home before we get there, and get certified on vacation.

If ANYONE can help us organize trying to do all of these things in 8 days, we would love you forever!
Belize Zoo/Xunantunich
Cave Tubing/Zip Lining
Snorkeling Shark Ray Alley/BBQ Trip
Diving Hol Chan and another easy trip
Fishing - maybe half day
Plus relaxing, dancing and tons of drinking!

Also we have not booked a place because of all of the awesome feedback from everyone, but our choices, if available during that time are:
Ramon's Village
Belize Yacht Club
Exotic Caye Beach Resort
Xanadu Resort
and last is Belizean Shores, but not sure if North is where we should stay?

We wanted to stay somewhere that doesn't resemble a hotel from the States.

I know this was a long post, but any advice is greatly appreciated, and we can bring tons of candy or whatever anyone requests from the US, as long as it is legal! <smile>

Of the ones mentioned, I'd go with Xanadu or BYC. No place on AC resembles anything in the US, IMO.

I'm not trying to be rude... and maybe it's because I don't give my 4 year old any sweets - but why candy? How about something, anything, other than candy. Just thoughts. smile smile smile

TB -

Great time ya had! I see you found one of my secret places for a quick cheap lunch too!

Cali - ya gots lots on your plate, but it's easy. Don't stress. It will all work out. You can combine HC/SRA and a BBQ all in one. See? Your plate just got less full - oh that just gives you more time to explore laugh

If it were me, I'd save Xuna for a return trip, spend sometime inland and visit it then. Replace it with Lamanai ( My #1 preference) or Altun Ha.

You should be able to combine the caving/zoo/zip all in one adventure packed day as well.

All can be easily arranged once you get on island.

Thanks Travel, and the only reason I brought up candy is because I was reading earlier about Carnaval and the kids in town, maybe enjoying some candy, even though we won't be there for that!

klc - thanks as well, I feel better already!
caving/zoo/zip sounds funny when you put it all together!

So many questions, so little time! Haha! With all the tour guides offering so many of the trips we want to do, is or are there any particular ones that are better at some things than others, i.e. Alphonse for Snorkeling, Amigos for diving, etc?
AND - since we are arriving on Friday afternoon, should we just stay in Belize City for the Zoo thing, then come to AC for a Sat to Sat reservation? Would that make more sense?

Sorry about all the questions, but we are SO excited! And in trying to stay with the message board lingo of so many repeat visitors, only 81 sleeps before we are there!!!

Which dive center do you intend to privately recommend, ecosvl? Perhaps the one you just opened?
