Keep in mind that every suitcase that passes through customs is opened and it's contents examined. I have had a number of friends visit in the last two months and officers have tried to charge them duty for personal items such as IPODs and laptops. Make sure they know the things you are bringing in are for your personal use and not donation or sale or you could spend alot of money before your vacation even starts. If you are bringing new things, take tags off and remove packaging.

So, No one needs me to bring them anything from the states? My flight leaves in the morning, so today is my last chance to shop.

belizegial, I just orderd this laptop from Dell for a customer who changed there minds. I paid $1300 for it, but would let it go for $1000.00. It is a Core 2 duo processor 2.0 with 2 gig ram and 120 gig hard drive. 15.4 Wide Display. Pretty much all the bells and whistles. Wireless card etc. I am trying to figure out if I can afford to make the donation with out the tax credit for it.

Based on the information that Belizegal gave regarding custom fees, if I bring a bottle of liquor with me, do I have to pay a fee for it? It will definitely be for personal consumption.

MARK, WELL, YOU WANT TO DONATE AND WON'T GET TAX FOR IT THEN CERTAINLY WE'LL TAKE IT.

MY E-MAIL ADDRESS IS IN MY PROFILE.

BRING IT AND IF THEY WANT TO TAX YOU THEN SAY IT'S YOUR PERSONAL SO THEY WON'T CHARGE YOU TAX ON IT BUT WILL RECORD IT SO YOU'LL HAVE TO TAKE IT BACK.

IF YOU MANAGE TO GET IT IN WITH NO QUESTION ASKED THEN YOU CAN DONATE IT IF YOU WISH.
