Thanks Loansum!! We were their friday night. The wind was blowing thirty, but just gorgeous. My new favorite place on the island, I'm glad they're all ok. Thanks again!

Hello, All - Had to pop in to join in thanks to Marty for all the info and tireless work.
Just some quick updates from a few I've had contact with:
Banana Beach: "We are doing fine. A lot of trees fell down and the beach is a mess. Some docks were also destroyed but nothing major."
Talked to Laurie and Paul (Tacogirl & Tacoboy) a few minutes ago - they are frazzled, but well. Sounded almost elated to have weathered the storm and had a couple of last minute requests for items to bring. I fly out tomorrow night. Will post pictures as I take them.
Marty, thanks again for everything!! You rock!
I can never remember which is better . . . safe? . . . or sorry?

From Reef Radio
We take this opportunity to thank everyone who tuned in during our coverage of Hurricane Dean. San Pedro Town is being cleaned up. I just took a golf cart ride around town and yes...there are many down trees and some damage to several homes. I am referring to the down town area. Other areas in town report some minor damage and some minimal flooding is still visible in low lying areas. Most residents are with rakes, machetes, etc and are cleaning up their yards. Boarded houses are being put down and the town is regaining its normal look. The airlines are resuming flights for today and should have normal flights tomorrow. People are starting to come back on the island. It was reported that water service is back to some parts of town. Electricity is still out but unlike Hurricane Keith there seems to be not that much damage to power lines. Some damage is visible and it is hoped that power is restored soon.

Any word on Belizian Shores? Will most of the restaurants and bars be open by Friday? Did AC lose electricity in all of this?
Thanks so much!

I have been following this board for so long that I feel like I know you all. I have had that sick feeling in the pit of my stomach ever since Dean started to threaten you. I am so relieved that everyone seems to have weathered the storm, so to speak. My wife and I are scheduled to arrive in 18 days for our tenth anniversary, at the Belizean shores. Does anyone know how they came through?

Hi, Blue Tang Inn next to Paradise Villas is fine. Wet Willys is still intact. So, I'm sure Paradise is doing ok, too.
