Surely loss of oil pressure = immediate shutdown and investigation?

The flash point of a flammable liquid is the lowest temperature at which it can form an ignitable mixture in air. At this temperature the vapor may cease to burn when the source of ignition is removed. A slightly higher temperature, the fire point, is defined as the temperature at which the vapor continues to burn after being ignited. Neither of these parameters are related to the temperatures of the ignition source or of the burning liquid, which are much higher. The flash point is often used as one descriptive characteristic of liquid fuel, but it is also used to describe liquids that are not used intentionally as fuels.

thanks for posting the story simon
So to conclude: 1. the boat and passengers personal items were insured 2. the police are investigating 3. the crew acted in a professional and responsible manner 4. help was rendered by another dive operator, and a resort 5. Insurance should replace the boat, and ADM will not suffer too badly (make sure the settlement allows for import duty, environmental tax and GST on a replacement vessel) 6. The only "injuries" inflicted were of a personal nature, and came from posts on this site, as folks became more entrenched in their positions, and the animosity cranked up…

So CanBrit as you are so such an advanced Diver with all your experience and BSAC Qualifications, you are also bright enough to have DAN Insurance and your losses are fully covered - aren't you

Thanks for the kind words, and the courtesy of upper case Jeff, you've remembered my vision problems: I have to say that at Leah Anns request, I have been using lower case in a larger font, and its working out fine, so no more shouting, and I'm learning to use the shift key!

My instructor in Naui OW told us to keep our mask, fins, snorkel close to us on the boat incase we ever need them.. like put them together and easy to get to. I sorta listened but never imagined the situation I would need them... here it is.. I learned something today.
