Dialup is 56K download approx, so yes the download spped should be much higher than the upload. There is a problem with your connection.

I have basic plan sat with Hughes net, just did the test and am
831 down and 493 up. Screaming fast today!

No, I'm not using a shared wireless signal.
Whenever i ask Coral Cable to investigate, I seem to get the part-time cleaner. I've never yet met anyone there who seemed to know what they were doing.

Peter,
We have problems about twice a month with Coral Cable - of course we are the northern most user of internet. Our speed can be very inconsistent and it is usually due to a cut or break in the line somewhere. Sometimes it has been the modem and they have replaced it. So we can relate . . .

Jesse, just for heck of it, I just tryed the speed test. Understand that I am on a t1 line with a massive server, so I would consider this about the highest you can get using this particular test:

That'd work for me! But again your upload speed is much higher than your download - surely that isn't normal?

Tweaked my interest. At work, 5177/4380. My home system is cable and I will give that a shot.

I use this free download to clean stuff. http://www.ccleaner.com/My browser is firefox : www.mozilla.com/firefoxMy speeds were DL2530 or 316KB/sec,, UL1240 or 110 KB/sec. Machine is quad core , but ranch is feed from a cable modem that splits to many computers, 6 on that i know of when running the test.
