Hi All,
Just an update. Hubby and I took 2 cartons of smokes each. I declaired the 2 extra cartons on the form. We were questioned about it but admitted they were for personal use and it was OK!
Since being here we have tried the Colonials and they are pretty good. so if we run out we'll be ok and hubby even wants to bring some back home. ALL IS WELL!

Check out the French cigarettes at the duty free when leaving Belize City - they're around $13 a carton - almost the same price as a single pack here - and they're pretty good. Can't remember the (designers) name, but they come in a black carton/box.

Boy, you are Nova Scotia nuts! I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would want to bring Canadian cigarettes with them. You can get a variety of US brands at Duty Free at your layover airport...Be it Charlotte, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, and for about $3.00 CA per pack! Just show your ticket and passport at the cashier station. One carton per person and one liter of liquor is the law. You can't buy at duty free in Belize once you clear customs and immigration unless you have a stateside ticket for that day. You do go back through security for your flight to SP or where ever and duty free is there. It's possible that the clerk will only ask for your passport and sell to you right there. They are not supposed to but hey...Things are looser there than Canada. I live in BC. I'd kill for a carton of Kool Longs right now. But, ceste la vie...Number 7 menthols are my only choice.

Dallas Dave, speaking as a Canadian smoker (currently a non-smoker), I can tell you that I did not like American cigarettes and only smoked them under duress. It did not matter to me that I could get them cheaper than my Canadian smokes. I was a Craven Menthol smoker for years and years.
