Not always. I think there is a growing realization on AC that you can go too far and undermine what you have worked so hard to build.

Money does talk so these developers need to be hit where it hurts them the most, their pocketbooks. They need to get the message that they will lose money by developing these properties through significant law suits and publicity that drives their buyers away

And who are they? There are theories but once their names are discovered, they need to be plastered with BAD press here and in their home towns.

Being an "outsider" I wonder just "who" is the true owner of this property and if they are the legal owners by virtue of the words in the country's constitution, eminent domain, homestead, squatters rights, etc. Anybody really know?

Just wondering...could this unnamed developer be Bob Dhillon - Main Street Equity Corp.???

Government Denies Sale of Cangrejo Caye

Survey pegs are clearly visible on Cangrejo Caye and credible reports to us on Monday said that the deal to sell it was being wrapped up at the Ministry of Natural Resources. But since the alarm was raised two days ago, government has been scrambling to cover itself on this hot button political issue in San Pedro. And today the Ministry of Natural Resources sent out a release saying that no permission to survey has been granted, and that there is no lease or sale of the caye itself or any lands on the caye. So then, any survey activity is illegal. But more than that, the Ministry's release says that the presence of the pegs is the sign that a gimmick is in progress. We'll leave it at that.

I hope they are true to their word.
