I agree with LM, it's nice to be able to have the freedom to express a variety of opinions. Unfortunate that some are unable to do so without denegrating others or resorting to name-calling.

Susan, my comments to you were in no way snide. I have made no assumptions or rude comments about you or your marriage and have in no way disparaged what you do for a living. I really can't imagine a way to be more direct. Your haste to judge others, make assumptions about their experiences and the types of relationships they have been in, and reduce the lives of others to mere cliches is saddening. It's one thing to disagree with another person, quite a different thing to attempt to belittle them or pass judgment on one you know almost nothing about - public figure or otherwise.

regardless, no one should put themselves on a pedestal and then assume no one is looking up their shorts. The irony is the only amusing part. I feel sorry for his wife, having (so far) to just suck it up.

Sicko . You get the general idea. If she isn't taking care of business, that's her business. She shouldn't have to be dragged up on the stage to draw peoples eyes away from him. That kind of situation is just psychological warfare. He could drag a puppy up there with him and distract half of the audience.
