Would have said Shirley's at the old vendor booths by Central Park. Where is she cooking now? Anyone know?

As TG mentioned Canibals had/has? some kick-butt Rice and Beans. They have moved south from their old location in town. It's now the Palapa on the main road, across from Royal Palms.

They're still doing really good food, but most people don't seem to have discovered them. One problem is that their liquor licence has been delayed.

I agree with Barb. Shirley's had the BEST r&b!! What I would give for some right now.....
(For some reason, the luncheon I'm heading to just doesn't sound 1/8 as appetizing as Shirley's, Elvis, Mickeys, etc etc etc. And of course, I won't be able to wash it down with one of Albert's panty rippers either :)).

Immissing - denied, but with permission to re-apply. That's happened twice so far as I know.

Dianita's! It's on the side street next to Belize Bank (when you go all the way down front st. and have to turn left, it's a turq little building on the right, past the bank's driveway). They also have great breakfast sandwiches.

JZB, what a cool thing to do... Positive and fun.
I hear from people in the know, that El Fogon (by the airstrip) is awesome.
Also, the cook at Tackle Box, Virginia used to work for me, and she makes a divine stewed chicken with rice 'n' beans. Not sure if it's on their menu, but worth asking for.
