janeinPA- sounds like we are doing the same trip. there is supposed to be a cave you can innertube thru it. we'll check into it when we get there. we are staying in the xun...hotel on the mopan river across from the ruins. plan to do rio frio and branch cave.
i was in the jungle in bolivia loved it then, i can't wait to see the jungles of belize. we have 3 cans of repellant and benedryl for the ones that get us. thanks for the info. glad to see you regulars on the board again.

Orionhunter, if you move ahead with your plans, will you still be staying at Paradise Villas?

Suzan---We are still planning on going, although I can't find ANYTHING!!!out about our reservations. I just e-mailed Coconuts and Paradise Villas(Johnna) again.How did you get ahold of Gaz?? Thru AC or someone in US? I don't know who has electric at this point and who doesn't. I do know I am getting frustrated. I may take up Texas Cat's suggestion and try to get in touch w/ Seven Seas. Tell me again the dates you will be in AC.

TexasCat--We arrive mid-afternoon Oct.25th.If you don't leave in the AM maybe we can meet up. Thanks for the tip about 7Seas.If we don't get to meet have a KICK_ASS trip!!!

Hey Suzan---Guess what??? I shot off a bunch of e-mails to hotels in AC, and just for the heck of it,sent another one to Gaz. He thinks he has room for us!!! Keep your fingers crossed for me girl and we will be at the same place.Let you know more later.

orionhunter- we were told by seven seas, not to come, they have decided to put power lines in a section at a time. i was told not expect service til end of nov. i have not stop crying since. this was our first trip to ac and our 20th anniversary. very disapoiting. have you heard anything like this?
we were supposed to do our open water dive with gaz, who called me and also cancelled....my husband doesn't want to revise the schedule, so i guess we get to wait and i get to cry alot more.

In response to my email with my concerns about coming, Gaz said he believes all will be much better and the curfew will be lifted by Oct. 29. He said he will stay in touch and let us know if we need to change our plans. So at his point, we have a place to stay but are still waiting to hear more details.

TEXASCAT &TEXASDAWG....Coconuts will be open for business on the 20th of Oct. Look under lodging...and punch up their site. They have a very good rate for Oct. No pool...but you want to dive anyway. They have a restaurant and bar. Do you think that would work for you??? Other resorts said to be open as soon as Electric is back on are: Banana Beach,Mayan Princess, Royal Palm Villas, Mata Rocks, Xanadu, Caribe Island Resort, Sunbreeze and Belizian Reef. I have heard from Coconuts, and they are taking us. Let me know what you decide to do. Good Luck!!!
