Suzan---Looks like we will be at Coconuts 25th-29th for sure. Still waiting for final word from Gaz as Villas from 30th to Nov.3. Sure hope they have some food and libations somewhere on the island by then---How are you at catching and cooking fish LOL!!! Keep me posted!

I can wrangle a mean can-opener on a can of tuna but other than that, you'd best not count on me to put food on the table with a fishing line. Not that I don't like to fish, they just never seem to be biting when I'm fishing. We are still awaiting a final 'come-on' from Gaz, I assume we will know more this week. If all works out, we look forward to tipping a few with you. When do you actually leave the U.S.?

Suzan---We leave the 25th...arrive SP 3 or 4 pm. Depends on how fast we get thru customs and can catch the next puddle jumper!!! We'll be at Coconuts til the 29th. Talked to Gaz yesterday and today...are you aware that if the Villas are not ready by the 29th he might put you all up at Holiday Hotel ??? At least that's what I was told. Better ask him for sure and check out Holiday Hotel in lodging section. If it doesn't work out you might want to consider another place. He did say he would be able to take us snorkling, so that's a plus...we don't dive yet. You leave in 5 days don't you ? I don't know about you---but I'm getting antsy. Are you still thinking about looking at property ?

Orionhunter, I have not heard from Gaz in the past few days and was not aware that we might be in the Holiday Hotel. I have been there before but not in their rooms. We were looking forward to the pool and kitchenette of the villas, but I am not jumping to conclusions. I expect I will hear something soon. We would like to look at property but we aren't quite sure what our needs are. We're in a wacky business situation right now and could go either way -- keep wokring on it or say adios altogether. Don't mean to be cryptic but it's a long explanation...isn't everything? Keep me posted as to what you find out, I'll do the same.

Why don't you give me your e-mail address and we can talk off the board about some stuff ?

hello orionhunter- i had to have a moment of pitty fri nite. i thought i did pretty good typing considering i had elephant tears and alot of shots to boot! the texasdawg was my mistake, couldn't hit the wrong title. it looks like we have to wait to jan. to come. bill, the owner of seven seas begs everyone not to come! we are trying to book a dive trip to cozumel for our open water dives so we can be certified. that was another moment of tears, knowing we have a short time to open water or all the money spent, would be for nothing.
i reminded my husband that i was nervous about diving to begin with, now i have to spend more money just to be certified! sucks!!!
so i guess you'll have to have a kick-ass party without me! i'm stil sobing over not getting to come..but i liik forward to a new ac when i get there.
the reason i'm so sad, is this our 1st trip ever out of the country, we picked belize (ac)to celebrate our 20th anniversary. we took dive lessons just to dive in ac. i still have prayers for the people of ac, but at the same time, my heart cries!!!

Texascat---you did one hell of a job editing that post!!! Girl, are you on the "shots" again??? I'm sorry about your trip truly, but I think you will have a great time in Cozumel. There's not much night life there though--did you know that??? You can get certified in Cancun, or stay there and take a day trip to Cozemel for the certification. We have been to Cancun every year like forever...it's my son's favorite place to go. Mega things to do--nite life,good cheap food,great hotels w/ lots of activities,beautiful ocean,decent but not great snorkling. People, people, people--definitely not what you would find in AC. How long do you have to vacation? Don't stress--any vacation is better than none--and you have a wonderful reason to be doing it--a 20th anniversary!!!! Congratulations!!! Don't worry about the water when you are getting certified--relax, and enjoy all the wonderful things you are going to see--it's not claustrophobia-- it's 3/4ths of the world that is now open to you. Be happy!!!!

orionhunter- you are great!!! i wish i could meet you!, you sound like a blast to party with!!! i don't know what's going to happen, but i'm glad people care!!!! my heart hurts with every stroke of the keys!! i want to be there more than any thing!!!
i'm praying for everyone on ac, but my heart cries, cuz i've haven't been there yet. we have made friends on this board and i'm so anxious to meet everyone. if i have to wait til jan. my heart is going to burst!!!

Texas Cat, Cozumel is a great place, the diving is beautiful and personally, I like the nightlife...but I'm not a big club person...a small bar with good drinks and fun people is more my style. I have not yet read if the curfew and liquor sales ban has been lifted. Anyone know??

Texas Cat--Sounds like you have decided on Cozemel for your trip, but if you haven't...did you try Coconuts or Mayan Princess,Holiday Hotel? Would Gaz or someone else be able to take you diving 21-25th? Hope you have a great trip wherever you decide to go. Have done cave-tubing before and it is soooo much fun! Cheer up!
