SS, I know what a typical "timeshare" is. From my understanding, the property that I speak of has been used as a timeshare in the past and now the person/people are selling it. It would be a perm. residence for me. Sorry for the confusion [Linked Image] Also, understand this. Look at the time of my post this AM, it WAS a Saturday night! I might have been a bit tipsy [Linked Image]

barefoot, I would love to talk to you about your experiences. You sound like the person that I need to answer questions. My wife still gets cold feet when it comes to the schools. I keep telling her that I am going wheter she comes or not [Linked Image]

I have a quick question though. When I was in SP two years ago, I don't remember seeing a private school. I have read about a private school that they have in SP that costs $250 BZ a month in tution. Is this true? Where on the island is the school because I don't remember seeing it.

barefoot, check your bin.

Gee, thanks Chloe. Sorry that you feel that way but it is not my intention.

Like I said in my original post, I have only been to the island one time, roughly 2 years ago. I have also been doing research, this is the first time that I have come across anyone that I could actually ask questions and receive an unbiased answer. Honestly, I was getting a little tired of reading all of the "sugar-coated" recommendations on the island from people that obviously had some type of interest "helping" me. Therefore, I don't know the island like the back of my hand, nor do I know nearly everything that there is to know. That is why I am here, asking questions.

If you don't believe me for some reason, you don't have to offer any assistance

I have been in the process for about a year and a half. We bought a condo north of town and our final move date is November 28th. Any move can be done if you have enough drive and love for the place your moving to. Good luck

No hard feelings Chloe. I just didn't know where I had given you any reason to doubt me. I have also been a little stressed about this as well. My in-laws think that I have lost my mind and are telling my wife that she is nuts for letting me talk her into this. This makes my wife stressed because she is feeling pulled on at both sides. To top that off, I was supposed to come down there tomorrow. There was a wind and hail storm here in TX today and since I am an insurance agent, I need to be here so that my customers can demand to have all of those microscopic dings in their Mercedes repaired ASAP. After all, hail damage is life-threatening, right?

It is just like I am getting madder everyday that I am here. I was looking for the brief escape tomorrow. I am going to try to come down on Friday or Saturday, depends on when I can bribe someone to keep my kids again [Linked Image]

I am just wanting to learn as much as I can, I apologize if I was snappy. This is ALL that I think about. I drive in my car and inside my head I am chanting "Belize" "Belize" over and over.

I have been talking to Dawn via E-mail and she has helped a great deal.

One question, how does the insurance field work in Belize? It is got to be a risk company, I know that Allstate and State Farm don't write policies there. I am just curious if there are any agents on AC and how the insurance market is there.

Josh, Are you and Amy really making the move in Nov.? I cn't believe it! I am so happy for you two. I thought you were buying for a
once in a while place not permanent. Congratulations. What will y'all do on AC...other than enjoy?
Remember the couple that came with us when we met you there? They almost ruined that time for us. They were horrible people. Bitched about everything. They actually hated the island and told us so in almost those words. wish we would have been able to spend more time with you and Amy instead of them. [Linked Image] [Linked Image]

Hmmmm.....I recognise those symptoms.
You have what is called Belize Consumption Disorder.

It usually manifests itself in individuals that have entered the country of Belize and acquired the Paradise Parasite.

This parasite is a viscious creature. Upon re-entering the United States, the parasite becomes agitated and starts burrowing it's way up the spinal canal into the patients brain. It focuses on the part of the brain responsible for sound reasoning and stress control.

Within two weeks, the patient will exhibit signs of discontent in the work place. The patient will also experience mood changes and have difficulty in handeling even the smallest amount of stress.

The patient will have symptoms of irritablity, disapproval of government figures and policies and road rage.

The patient will have consuming thoughts of going back to Belize and never returning home.

Visions of palm trees, turquoise waters, hammocks, coconuts and tropical drinks will fill the patients dreams....day and night.

The only known cure for this disorder is for the patient to return to Belize.

Once there, the parasite will exit the patients body....order the patient a Belikin..... and they will have a complete recovery.
