How did Sharon get hurt?

I hope that someday we can put aside our fears and prejudices and just laugh at people.

In the military it is called self-inflicted injury and you are charge and fined

Look folks, a friend of ours is hurt, cut out the sniping at others expense. If you are concened about her, give Sharon a call. Otherwise leave the situation alone.

As a matter of fact, it's none of MY business either, sorry I butted in...but, shutup already!!!

As a matter of fact this subject has become our business when we were informed that Cindy was collecting money for Sharon. Sharon is a friend and has been for years and we sent our best wishes as soon as we had heard. When Loansum informed us we sent money and I broke my golden rule about giving money (TIME YES MONEY NO). Peter has guaranteed were the money will go and that is good enough for us. At the time I did not regret sending the money in Sharon hour of need, but this board has now informed us Sharon had no "rainy day fund", no social security, no medical insurance and was drunk on a boat at the time of the accident. I hope other people will learn from Sharon choice's.

KHMH (Belize City hospital) has exceedingly low rates. I had a friend there for 10 days to be monitored after a heart attack - the bill was $300. Another friend was in for 2 days, treated for burns - $75. Another had emergency surgery after a stomach ulcer perforated - $1,200 Bz - he was in for 2 weeks.

I agree that inplub brings up very valid points about health insurance and a rainy day fund - but perhaps he could have done it in a more gentle manner, at a time when it wasn't such a stark reality for one of our popular islanders.

And drinking and boating do not mix... and sometimes we need reminders of how instantly our lives can change.

Get well soon Sharon - godspeed.
