I had HotspotVPN2 and it failed after a few months. I referred it to them and it was modified and reloaded several times by them, but it never worked again for VoIP (which was the only reason I wanted it).

I access the internet via Coral Cable.

I use 32-bit XP, though I couldn't get it to work on 32-bit Vista either. I have used a variety of computers, with no difference between them.

Another solution, which I turned to after I failed to get HSVPN2 working again, has worked perfectly ever since. I'll tell people privately what that is, but I won't publish any information about it here.

Caye Connect you obviously know more than most on this subject. For clarity are you saying we shouldn't talk about what does work on these public forums or that it doesn't really matter. Several times we have had a working, viable solution only to see it talked about on here and within weeks find it is a degraded or dead service. Paranoid scitso perhaps but a lot of coincidences add up at times too!

I don't believe BTL is *that* sinister. I think they saw their international call revenue declining and chose to outsource a jamming service (to Bitek) to offset that loss. They've effectively blocked native Vonage (SIP) and Skype. I don't think they have a room full of spies looking at message boards, devising ways to block Peter and Phil's Skype conversations.

I think your problems may be isolated... your Coral Cable connection, your PC, your viruses, spyware, tool bars etc... You can see from the responses here that several people are still using using all of the aforementioned solutions with success. Just a matter of troubleshooting your specific issue - if it turns out it is BTL, then I'd be happy to eat my words.

I've abandoned HSVPN2 and I won't go back there. I'd love to find a solution on my own PC, but I'm reasonably savvy on the basics and am pretty sure I don't have viruses/spyware or other obvious problems, I don't use extraneous tool bars, and I find exactly the same difficulties whichever of my various machines I use. I do have a working solution, but it's not cheap.

FWIW I think BTL is sinister, as I know they've spent a fortune on software to block VoIP, at the same time that their own service is suffering badly from lack of proper investment. The British High Commissioner of a few years ago had some choice words to say about them and their British chairman!

I forgot to mention yesterday the I'm using Vista 32 bit and from what I'm reading is most important CCV. Yep, still working this morning.

We'll see. They're rich and protective and have a proven track record of shadiness.

All VoIP is blocked, not by identity but by content.
