Definately buy your beer by the case at the beer distributorship. It's MUCH cheaper than buying out at clubs. You get a significant amount of $$ back when you turn the bottles in as well.
Any US brand of grocery item is expensive. Some of the items are much cheaper if you don't buy US brands. Eating out can be very economical, and BBQing your fish you caught helps as well. We took our fish to a little restuarant called Amergris Delight and they prepared it for us 4 different ways for 12.50 BZ. What a bargain. We ordered rice and beans on the side and had a fabulous dinner for 4, for about $9!!!!! (US)Can't beat that with a stick. This same place also has FABULOUS pizza (conch included) and they deliver!!!!! Belize it.

Jesse,
If you are still lurking out there----how 'bout an update on the biscuit and gravy situation at the Hideaway and the status of Sweet Basils. It is also my understanding that the blue curacao inventory at BC's may be suffering, although perhaps by now Charlene has put it on her "shopping list".

Your info as usual is always appreciated.

Dawnskers,
No doubt about it: "Jambel" has the best authentic Jamaican food around, and Fitz is a very cool host! It's right on the beach across from 'Central Park', you know, by the main shipping pier. The food is *HOT* and the tunes are cool...it is a bit pricy, but what isn't on A.C., unless you want rice'n'beans'n'chicken as a steady diet!!!!
Tell him "N.Y.-Emile" said to have you taste the beef patties an' coco bread, if he has any...

The Golden Girls are working hard to get the Hideaway kitchen back in operation, probably within a week.
Sweet Basils is in full operation and their adverts say that the path is OK for golf carts again.
Charlene would never disappoint you by running out of the makin's for your blue thingies! Come on down!

Excellent advice! Thanks to you all...my husband wants to know one very important thing; WHERE IS THE BEER DISTRIBUTORSHIP? He will be one happy camper if we can find that!
I am assuming that US dollars are readily accepted down there? Traveler's checks also?

Jesse-
The 22nd. I'm bringing a bottle of blue curacao just in case. Char never had any before I brought one in August. She almost flipped when she saw Ernie mixing a blue drink.

Thanks for the Hideaway and Basils update. I suspose that the Hideaway bar will as usual unless because of the aliens they have put in a dress code or cover charge

San Pedro Distributors (Belican, Coke, water) is located next to Island Supermarket just south of the village. You can hijack a delivery crew on the road anywhere however. Just look for a red trailer towed by a green John Deere tractor.
Hideaway Bar is the same except aliens must wear pants now.

CHOO CHOO...
Out of curiosity.... My kid eats blue "what cha ma call its" quite frequently. His lips and tongue always turn blue. Do your "blue thingies" turn your mouth and lips blue?? Maybe that's why the aliens are attracted to you.... [Linked Image]

Beliken Supply is just south of Coconuts. The case price is $37.50BZ plus bottle deposit, around$5.00BZ. They will deliver free! Best value on the Island. Just call them before 1 PM.
