I found the message board after we had been living here a 5 months.

Tried to join as beachgirl was obviously taken and I thought what else do I like besides the beach and first thing that came to mind was tacos so tacogirl was created - less than a week later Paul joined as tacoboy.

i guess it is my turn on the name game. no i was not named after the animal. i am into collecting anything that has to do with the Bobcat Corp. which makes the greatest and best front end loaders and other construction equipment. so that is how i got my name

Wow. I have never looked back at when I joined or any of that business, but this thread prompted me. It seems I joined in Feb 2004 and my first question was a typical first visitor question about malaria pills.

Back in the 90's, when I first found the internet, I naively used my real name, which is Colette. Unfortunately, my name was interpreted as an invitation to tell people what I was wearing, what my cup size was and whether I wanted to 'cyber'.

I was working for this amazing autistic mathematician at the time and he couldn't really get his head around names, so he'd just use whatever worked best for him. In my case, I became 'Collywobbles'. My surname starts with a K, so I just used Collyk.

Weirdly, some people have assumed that I am a man who has named myself after a stomach disorder (colic), which I find quite funny.

isn't the collywobbles a stomach ailment?

I first posted in 2003 (I think) while planning my first trip. It never crossed my mind that I would revisit this message board after my first trip because hanging out anonymously on a message board is something only a LOSER would do...yet here I am years later. I lurked for months laughing like you wouldn't believe at people's posts. My first post was to Lan Sluder. If I can find it, I will post a link. I wanted my board name to be Scarlett but discovered that it was already taken. On the spot I came up with KathyA. No real mystery there.

I found my very first post and it was in October of 2002.
