I like my glass rimed like SFJeff described but most bartenders don't have the time to do it the old fashion way. But then no one makes a real Margarita anymore either.

Actually Jeff if you do it right you can use the salt/sugar/lime holder to properly salt a rim. After liming the rim you hold the glass at a angle to add the salt or sugar and rotate it. Not pressing the glass down in the salt. That way the salt doesn't get on the inside of the glass. At least that is the way I was taught to do it.
