Speaking of comical, I find it comical that you are taking this to the whole next level.
Regarding the desert, I was simply making a statement that the vehicles can be used there, so they may or may not be appropriate for AC. I didn't want to get into a discussion about the environmental impact of illegal off-site use of them, so I will end that portion right here. You claim to know more about it than me, and I can't (and won't) dispute that fact because I don't know you, so..... that part of the discussion is....Done.
As for using said carts / rhinos / etc on AC:
I don't think that the people of AC are so isolated that they don't know about 'souped up modes of transportation'. Please don't go generalizing about me and what I actually wrote to make me seem like the bad guy here. If you read what I wrote, I mentioned that I didn't even know that such vehicles even existed until I moved to San Diego 6 years ago, so I would assume that there are people out there that were in the same situation as me (not everyone lives in the desert, as you seem to be implying you do, so you can't assume that everyone knows everything that you do about said topic), so I suggested a possible solution to the very common complaint of bad roads. I am by no means trying to sell anyone on anything or convince anyone of anything. I was simply throwing a suggestion out there for people to take or leave. I could care less what they do with the information, but I found your response to be not only a bit terse, but accusatory as well, and I think that was uncalled for. Everyone else responded with logical arguments / answers / comments, but your response was one of attitude and overall disgust at the idea, and at me for even thinking about suggesting it.
As for your statement about the "fact" that i 'didn't consider that people go to AC because they love it the way it is, not the way you may want to improve it.'..... well, let's see:
1) that's not a fact, because I did consider that people go there for just that reason. That's why I went there, and plan on returning.
2) I don't want to improve it, change it, destroy it, or do anything to AC. I just want to enjoy it. Don't make unfair assumptions, and call them "fact", when they are not.
3) Again, I was simply asking a question, and proposing a possible solution. No one else responed with such a reaction as you did, so it just makes me think that you're looking to pick a fight. I don't think that my response was arrogant in any way, but when people are looking to pick a fight, they can always find something to criticize.
If you re-read what I originally posted, I think you'll see that I was not arrogant, I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything, I was simply suggesting a possible solution to what seems to be a commonplace complaint. Take it or leave it, but don't attack me for it.
