I understand that not all cotton buds are the same, but what's special about Q-tips?

The ends don't come off and stay in your ear, resulting in the need to see a doctor to get it out. Also the stick is stronger and doesn't bend so easily, so you can use greater pressure for swabbing.

well said Natalie - also super handy for us swabbing Shmoo's (dog's)eyelids (she lacks eyes)when cleaning her as they are far more gentle and less pokey and intrusive.

Any doctor will tell you that you shouldn't stick a Q-Tip in your ear unless you want to puncture the eardrum.
