Definitly not the same type of creature that we photographed at Azul yesterday.

I was cleaning up the beach today and noticed an unusual amount and type of seaweed and also an odd amount and type of trash considering it hasn't really been rough and stormy the past few days.

Maybe some side effect of earthquakes or some such other natural phenomenon.

Too sad.

The sharper teeth makes it look more like a dwarf sperm whale.

Two of them... Today's is the same (as the one yesterday.) Same shape, teeth, fins, etc... Looks like Elbert is correct, pygmy sperm whale...

Why so much blood?

It has some holes in it ,the blood is coming out of them.

anything doing that trip across the top of the reef is going to get lots of cuts and punctures

The two look different to me...one has a much longer tail, even though they seem to be shaped the same....

Yesterday afternoon a boat dragged the dead whale to the dock belonging to the first house north of Blue Reed, tied it to the dock and abandoned it to decompose. We called the Hol Chan office yesterday and were told they would contact the man who was supposed to remove it but nothing has happened. Calls were placed to Green Reef and The Sun today but no one has returned our calls. Anyone have any idea who else to call before the stench becomes overpowering?

Could this be whale # 3?? The one south of Costa Maya was gone yesterday afternoon.
could some one have drug it up to Blue Reef and this is the same Whale?
hummmm tied it to the dock... may be they want to collect the teeth and bones and want it to rot clean first???
