Way past JH here, but I kind of remember it was a lot of fun back in the day. Anyhow, I really liked BB and I had an ocean view each time. And, I would prefer BB to any of the original suggestions for a place to stay. Again, my comment was only addressed to my preference to stay on the beach.... and staying on the beach you must have an ocean view!

When I stayed at the Conch Shell, there was too much noise for me. Amigos del Mar dive shop is right in front and I like to sleep in a little past 5 a.m.

Banana Beach is a great deal at that price. It would be my suggestion too.

I have stayed at Banana Beach, Ruby's and Spindrift. I found all three to be lovely. We enjoy staying in town more now, only because I like a little more action at night than when we stayed at Bananna Beach, although the peaceful tranquility can't be beat. At Ruby's we stayed in Room 24 (I think) second floor. Noise was not an issue because of the ac. And the balcony view was priceless. You get to watch the reef and the people. The Spindrift was nice as well, with beautiful suites. A little more pricey than Ruby's but it is becuae of the amenities. Again, noise not an issue if you have ac. And the sundeck on the second floor as well as the ariel view of the chicken drop can't be beat! Or the view of Coconut Leo's high flying acrobatic feats is another sight to behold.
