They're in Italy for the summer, so unlikely to respond until they return. It wasn't the brightest of ideas to sign a credit card slip without looking at the amount as you obviously did, but it just shows people can make mistakes - so how about you give them the chance to put things right before carrying on further. Then if they dont perhaps you will be justified in running your mouth off.

Great Phil. The tourist ALLEGEDLY gets ripped off....but they need to shut their mouth. Now we know how you are.

This should be a esay fix ..you had a meal you know exactly what you ordered have some one look at the menu.and check the prices if they do not total what you orderd $$$ ,then when they reopen I bet they will give you your money back almost all restaurants on this small island are honest people and they work very hard to do business and make a living ,not easy here And when mistakes happen and they do happen ... It is a mistake by the staff a new person or waiter or the person who took your order ,when the owner is told of the problem they always make it right ..at least that has been the norm here in my experiance ..As tourist business is very important to the island ..so 2+2 = 4 if you are sure and right you will see magic happen ..If you handel it right ..

I certainly have never been overcharged anywhere, ever, at anytime in the United States....the nerve!! No one makes those types of mistakes here!! Obviously it is part of a larger plot where Belize is planning on taking over the world, one tourist at a time.....(insert evil laugh here).

So you are saying that the charge should have been $90 BZ and they wrote up and charged your credit card $180 Bz? Just wondering.

Although credit card slips and receipts may be charged on a US $ credit card the charges are made in Belize dollars. The charge at your bank in the US will convert the local Belize dollar charge into US dollars which are billed on your statement.

Maybe you think they are charging you $90US because you have a US $ credit card when in fact the dollar amount signifies Belizean dollars. This is a common misunderstanding.

I had that exact thing happen, it shows $90 but is actually $90 BZE. Check your statement & see what the actual charge is in USD, you might not have a problem...

Ah, Amanda, Phil, Jeff and Tim- the refreshing sound of reasonable voices! Karissa, I am sure you were/are ticked off, but i guess what's missing here is the fact that there is some culpability on your part. Honest, they are nice people, the owners should have been spoken to before you go to the '10 people' to whom a complainer goes, versus the 1 that a satisfied customer speaks to. On this forum, that number is much higher.


Look, everyone knows i have OPINIONS...strong ones, wrong ones, right ones, My ones smile And i have an opinion about Pinnochio's as well. Simply lovely people, simply lovely place, simply lovely food, but i personally find the portions a wee bit small, and the prices a wee bit high. Not a reason on earth to not go back...cant wait til october! maybe i'll go for my birthday...
