Thanks to all...very helpful. Offshore I'm looking for: 1. sailfish 2.dolfin (or anything tasty) maybe white marlin. I thought fishing for sailfish in April was excellent...true/false? Reef fishing: I just want to have fun, catch fish, take some to eat(hoping for grouper?) and release the rest. Know any resturants that will cook your catch? I'm staying 1mi. south of town, next to Crazy Canucks. Anyone want to split a charter with us(2) let me know before April 8th. Can go on April 10th thru 15th. I'm thinking of going with Capt. Graniel, April 11th full day Reef and Offshore April 14th or 15th. Hope to book before April 3rd.
Welland- The guy I'm looking for spells his name Bechue...he took a friend fishing 10yrs ago. I think Bechue is about 30yrs old now.

Never heard of Bechue. I've been down for 12 years. Good luck in finding him and good luck in your fishing.

"Offshore I'm looking for: 1. sailfish 2.dolfin (or anything tasty) maybe white marlin. I thought fishing for sailfish in April was excellent...true/false?" If your expectations are to catch pelagic fish, you are most likely to be disappointed. Belize has very good flats fishing for bonefish, permit and tarpon. And, you should have no problem catching snapper and grouper. But to hire a guide and spend the money expecting to catch billfish etc, you will find that to be far less predictable. I hate to see people spend their money with expectations that are not realistic and then be disappointed. I would be interested in knowing where you got the impression that sailfishing in Belize was excellent. I would not rate Belize as a billfishing destination compared to many other places where it is much more predictable. Do your research, don't come with unrealistic expectations and enjoy the kinds of fishing Belize has to offer.

Fisherman Please read bywarren post he says it the way it is ..You will have A great day out on the ocean and catch lots of fish ..But this is not A big game fish place .And you say you will book Capt pete good for you A good bet.,As far as cooking your fish .All do it ,just check out the price to do As it varies from place to place ,Georges kitchen is very close to you!!They are near you ,up the street or is down the street ??When you walk out to the street they are few feet to the left. ..They will cook it For a very good price it is A family owned place.. let us know what you caught .And All the fun you had ..Enjoy your trip..

I think "Bechue" might be "Bicho". I fished with Bicho several years ago and his son (or nephew perhaps) was around 30. Capt Jeff was pushing him hard back then, glad he did as it was a good day. I've used other guides since then - and I've never been disappointed.

Thanks again guys! Bywarren: I saw on nat.geo. where sailfish come offshore of Belize in April (full moon) to spawn. Also, on this website-fishing link, then fishing guide link- it states "sailfish best in spring" & "marlin all months". I used to go to Cozumel, but won't go back there after what they did to the reef to accommodate more cruise ships! Anyway, had luck there- white marlin, dolphin&blackfin tuna. Thought they still might be in the neighborhood. AC looks like my kinda place-laid back. I know it isn't Hawaii, but,I hope to catch something out there- hoping my chances are good for sailfish!

The reason you don't use Bicho is between you and him. Why don't you leave it that way? I've used some guides I was not satisfied with but I don't advertise it. They all have to make a living.
