yes, they go to belize out of curiosity like most travel adventures, now do you have any idea why only 125k per year"think" small number of tourists in the world, also to answer the water flow question and i dont doubt creeks flow, lol, but if the road is built on its edge of the lagoon and culverts are installed, wheres this problem going, its not a flow ting its a right to passage ting my friend, so the careless ting should not be thrown around so easily, i also hate to agree with you but i will on the fact it does have to be done RIGHT, BUT ON THE OTHER HAND, MANAGING IS THE VERY KEY and you cant manage something you dont take on,so you were backwards on that point.Blasting outsiders is not my purpose at all but the few whom i,ve had the pleasure of meeting were somewhat desirables throw backs, misfits and such, but most not as i certain elbert does not fall in that catogorie but chooses to be a negitive voice and i wont let that ride by without notice. Finally i too would not like the walmarts and sammys and that is why i,ve shown interest in belize and not just AC...

So golly gee, I know I have a used copy of Strunk & White around here somewhere...? Perhaps it's under that stack of old magazines over there... Ah yes, here it is... I'll be happy to loan it to anyone interested before they post here again.
So RE: the mile of sludge stretching westward from just south of where I sit & type, perhaps an urgent call to the ACLBA is in order???!!! I mean the ACLBA was established for the EXACT purpose of MANAGING development...
Oh wait...

I've been looking at the Google Earth map and it looks like with out culverts and bridge the Grand Belize Estates will also flood during a big rain. It would probably be in the best interest of everyone to make sure this road project is done properly and estimate how big and how many culverts need to be installed. I'm sure that would be part of an environmental assessment if the Town Board had done one. A token bridge and a few little culverts wont do anything when we see the rains come. Journeys End,Solaria,Las terrazas, Blue Dolphin, Belizean Shores CocoBeach, everything all the way down to Grand Carribe will be adversely affected if this road is just a dam.

Billy...I think that you really should look at the area where the road is going and what is actually taking place. The road is not going on the edge of the the lagoon, it it going right through the middle in some areas. You dont seem to want to address some of the issues brought up...like the developer following the law and doing an EIA. You want us to create and inforce laws about grocery store prices yet you don't want the laws that protect our environment and tourism industry to be enforced. Are you sure you are not part of this development? You sure sound like them...enforce the laws, but only the ones that dont apply to them. Elbert is not a negative voice unless you are the developer and dont want to hear the truth about the damage you are causing. Elbert has been here long enough to have an opinion worth listening to.

lol,i to am a developer here in canada,,rona,s home depots ect... i have no connection to GBE whats so ever but i believe in what there doing is a positive thing for san pedro, which built to fast and to no blue print and it will take along time to straighten out its congested mess, so when you finally get blessed with a developer who is willing to get the job done and done right, what happens? small and narrow thinkers come out of the wood work and bend the ears of other tree huggers, then we,re up against a work slow down until each of you have a day in court and not once have i seen PROGRESS yielded.GO, on google yourself ecoman and see, culverts work to let critters through, this flow of water B.S is going nowhere, stagnant waters on the north side of the road and until culverts are put in , most critters had no-way of getting over there unless they walked on land , so all and all, a cesspool and nothin more my friend, and yet to apease folks like yourselves they will go ahead and install culverts and bridges at there expence, so if you would truly like to be a part and help the enviroment, round up some cash flow to pay for some of these things,, nice thought eh! that way your volunteering would put you right with the project and you would know more of what takes place, and that will ease all you nasty thoughts. Its been my experince that will not happen though as most just wanted to sound of, but at this point you yourself do have this opportunity at ground zero, and i,m sure you may be negative going in but well educated and all around relieved comming out,,,gl

when you finally get blessed with a developer who is willing to get the job done and done right, what happens? small and narrow thinkers come out of the wood work and bend the ears of other tree huggers What you are saying is so absurd I think you must be a troll. What GBE is doing is very far from "doing it right". If you are a developer anywhere you must know about flow of water, and the need to allow for it. It seems that in fact you know absolutely nothing of what you are talking about, in which case we'd all be grateful if you'd crawl back to where you came from. But if you really are a troll you're not doing a very good job of it. You're certainly alienating everyone here, which presumably isn't your intention.

I walked the "road" yesterday and on the north side, there is dead still water where flow has been cut off. On the south side is a trench that is where the sludge was dredged from. It looks like a total waste land. If they are going to put the culverts in, it should be soon. The culverts are sitting on the pier. I do not understand why this was not done carefully so that there was less negative impact. It can be salvaged if the developers move quickly but I guess they are preoccupied figuring out how to save the water supply for town that has been compromised by their other development
