In the mid 80's in the northeast during 4th of July Weekend the radio would always have play the top 500 r & r songs of all time and the worst 100 ones
The #1 was always Stairway to Heaven or Free Bird
The worst was always Kung Foo Fighting or Afternoon Delight

Wow, Patti Page, my dad was very close friends with her and her sisters. Back in the 30's, they had a Sunday radio show in Musk. Okla.. Saturdays after chores, the sisters would sing and my dad accompanied with the guitar. They remained friends all his life. Dad played until after the war, got married and then everything changed. Got a real job, boo hoo.

That's a very cool story to have Champion!

I still have my Patty Page 45 of "How much is that doggy in the window". That was my favorite song when I was . . um . . .not born yet.
