I thought the Gates fund was for research and medications in regards to mosquito borne diseases such as malaria and dengue. Then again they have a lot of money and most likely donate to many different areas of social/community improvement of conditions, medical research etc.

The news of little Daniel is spreading here in Southern California. My friend Julie Sone is a producer at ABC Channel 7 here in LA and is going to do a story on the entire situation on the evening news. I spoke with her today and she was aware of Daniel, so it's getting out there!!!! Hopefully all of the major channels will pick the story up and get it on air soon.

Managed to view the U-tube video and it broke my heart.
That poor baby has a belly the size of a basketball and arms like sticks. I hope the fund-raiser happens fast.

Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is about more than moskitos and malaria, however, you are right in that, it does not seem to have the individual factor necessary in this case.
