Richie spent a lot of time researching those gold coins. He told me those coins found were hidden there from a rich guy who lived near that spot and washed out in a storm. He said the guys relatives remembered him searching for his money and finding only part.
There is a small spot on CC where we picked up old handblown bottles just off the shore. .I have a very rough and thick one that was used to hold soda water. The glass was so poor it had to be thick for the pressure.
We would walk the whole spot and pick up all the old glass and whole bottles to make that area a park.
Next day or after a storm there would be more. They were circling up from below.

Is there anything still there, or did Keith clear it all out?

Just be aware of the Belize antiquities laws if you are treasure hunting. Basically anything over 150 years old belongs to the government. Fines and jail time are steep for possesion without a license.

Unless the laws have changed--metal detectors of any flavor are still contraband.

I don't believe that. I bet you cant prove it!so much of this 'Against the Law' is total horse shit!
Lots of metal detectors and even underwater metal detectors on the island being used.
And the Antiquities Act is rarely enforced. I wish we protected our antiquities better but we don't.
People deal Mayan artifacts and treasure from the sea such as cannon and anchor openly with out thought or concern for the Antiquities Act.

Well as usual Elbert knows everything. Call that fat customs guy at international airport and tell him to give me mine back.
