I started a treasure hunting thread way back and remember someone replying that coins have been found in Boca Del Rio area after storms.

As to Metal detectors being illegal here met a tourist at a bar who had brought one in on his vacation - that may be a luck of the draw thing.

Tacogirl - are metal detectors really illegal?

I have no idea Jilco - I have found 2 people that live here who have them [was trying to help someone locate a missing ring] and met a tourist once who brought one with him on vacation.

That being said belizeonthebeach was not able to get his in.

That was 15 years ago.

Some of us do not live in Belize and would like to know where the Boca Del Rio area is. Is it on Ambergris Caye? Also, what kind of coins were found there? Do you have the size and weight approx. details also?
